A cleaning reminder to let you know when the hood has been in operation for 30 hours, this helps keep maintenance to a minimum. A telescopic chimney and a damper is included.

A powerful island hood with a CFM of 900, this Eureka range hood is quite a bargain. It’s got 3 speed controls with a push button interface. The aluminum filters are dishwasher safe and easy to remove and reattach – no maintenance issues at all. The Chimney adjusts for ceilings of 8 – 9 feet and you’re going to receive a non-return air flap in the box (backdraft damper). The hood is sold with a 3 years warranty, which you should confirm before placing an order. The lights are not that bright, but you do have 4 of them – 20W each. This hood tends to go out of stock quickly!

The telescopic chimney is ideal for kitchens with ceilings of 8 – 9 feet. The controls are push buttons, using which the fan can be operated at 3 speeds. The non-return air flap is included in the package. This island range hood can be either ducted or non-ducted. You should know that the charcoal filters for non-ducted installation are sold separately.

Even with a powerful CFM of 840, the Golden Vantage GVAI-30 Island mount range hood operates very quietly with a maximum noise level of 65DB. Golden Vantage offers a 3 year manufacture limited warranty on this model as long as you buy from registered sellers. The telescopic chimney is suitable for kitchens with ceilings between 8 – 9 feet. The fan can be operated at 3 speeds and has a delayed auto shut off feature which can be programmed in intervals of 1 minute. Each range hood is tested before it is shipped out to the customer. So you're sure that it functions well.

Cavaliere-Euro SV218D-I36

Definitely not the island range hood if you’re on a tight budget, this island hood is an amazing product with a 900 CFM motor, yet functions within the sound level of 25 – 56dB. The telescopic chimney is ideal for homes up to a 9 foot ceiling. It’s got a 6 inch round duct and dishwasher safe aluminum mesh filters. It’s got 6 speed levels to choose from. Lighting is another strong point, with 4 dimmable 35W halogen bulbs. There’s also a timer function as an added feature. With a touch sensitive keypad, delayed shutoff and a 30 hour cleaning reminder, this hood rocks.

Golden Vantage GVAIS2 36"

The Golden Vantage GVAIS2-36 is very similar to the GVAI-30, apart from the size of the hood. It’s got a powerful 840 CFM motor and a maximum noise level of 65DB. It can be operated at 3 speeds and has touch controls. There are 4 LED bulbs located at the four corners of this island range hood so that your cook top is always illuminated. The anodized aluminum filters are dishwasher safe and easy to remove and reattach after cleaning. The hood can be installed as either a ducted or a ductless range hood, the latter requiring you to purchase carbon filters separately.

Frigidaire FHPC3660LS 36"

The Frigidaire Gallery FHPC3660LS Island Mount Range Hood is a top seller and boasts of a CFM of 400. It’s got a 3 speed centrifugal fan and halogen lighting. The hood has got push button controls and is easy to operate. You could either use it as a recirculating hood or a ducted hood. For it to function as a ductless hood you’re going to need to purchase an additional recirculation kit which is pretty expensive at around $90! For some reason this hood is a top seller, but personally we would say there are far better options out there for cheaper both in the short term and long term. You are going to need to replace those filters – high recurring costs.

The Golden Vantage GV-GL-9009 Island Range Hood contains a powerful 870 CFM motor. Just like the other powerful island range hoods by the brand, this one also has a noise level of less than 65DB. The filters are made up of 5 layers of aluminum topped with a single layer of stainless steel. The filters are dishwasher friendly and easy to handle. The hood comes along with a 3 year limited parts manufacturer warranty. The hood has 4 LED lights, each being 2W. The chimney can be adjusted for ceilings of 8-9 feet. It comes with a non-return air flap. For ductless operation you would need to purchase the carbon filters separately. They are around $20-30
